Holmes County State Park

A picture of me that Marian took while we were staying at Holmes County State Park campgrounds in April 2007. It was our wedding anniversary trip that we took and stayed in one of their cabins. We had a great time. We have been going to this camp for at least 15 years now. Actually, we were not far from Rex's Deer Camp in the Delta. We went to visit him for the first time the following month. We have all become the best of friends with him, his Dad, Hershel, his brothers, Trent, Paul of course, Jamie, whom we have not met and lives in Alaska and his friends. Rex also has a sister named Holly. We have not met her as well, but we hope to one day.

Sidney and I

This was a very memorable day for me when I took my friend, Sidney, hunting at Tara Wildlife north of Vicksburg and we both harvested a nice buck. Sidney and I worked on the opposite sides of the table. He was a Teamster President and I was Director of Labor Relations. Like my wife, Marian, I taught Sidney how to hunt. We also hunted together in Claiborne County at Homewood Hunting Club for years. We are both retired now from our jobs and he lives in Memphis, Tennessee with his wife. (I mounted my buck)

My Lap Dog - Katie

I'm looking at Marian's memory booklet that she put together for her 50th Class Reunion. Katie is taking it all in. This is her favorite spot while resting with me in my recliner. I think she can out snore me! She's my little doll!

My Daughter Karen

This is my favorite portrait of Karen.

My Daughter Karen and I

This is my only daughter, Karen, who lives in Santa Fe, NM. Marian took this picture while we were at a restaurant a few years ago. It is so much fun to go out and visit her. She has two daughters, Jessica and Cristina. Jessica is expecting a little girl any day now and I will be a great grandpa and Karen will be a grandmother for the first time.

Reed's Stand

Here is a picture of Reed, my former boss, in his deer stand at Jasper Bottom Hunting Club in Claiborne County. I had this stand and Marians stand made for them. Reed stand was located near a swampy area. Marian and Reed (when Reed was not in town) harvested many deer from this stand.

My Former Boss and I

Marian took this picture of Reed and I walking across the Beaver Dam at Jasper Bottom Deer Camp Hunting Club in Claiborne County. The road by the swamp was underwater and too deep for the three wheeler to pass through. Reed has since past away and had a military funeral in Southhaven, MS. He was my boss back in Champaign, IL, when working for Humko, before I moved to Vicksburg. After I left IL, Reed had a stroke and had to retired from work. As soon as he was able to get back on his feet, I had invited him to come down to Vicksburg to hunt with us. He did so for several years and we really had a great time hunting together. We became the best of friends and Marian and I miss him very much.

I'm Coming To Get Marian

I really like this photo that Marian took while on Jerry Dykes' (Deceased) deer stand on the bar, after an afternoon hunt. At that time I had my old grey suburban and were members of the Brown's Point Hunting Club on Kings Point Island north of Vicksburg. To the left is the sandbar and the MS River. We had a lot of good memories at this camp. It is too expensive to belong to it now.

Knee Deep In Mud

Here is a picture of me taken knee deep in mud around Carpenter, MS. Billy Boykin, his wife, Lynn and Marian and I went riding through the woods and came upon this thick mud hole on the road. Needless to say, I was some kind of STUCK! I believe this was taken by Billy the latter part of the 80's.

My New Jester Hat

Here I am in my new jester hat I made at my program, "Some Place Special." the other day. According to the dictionary, a jester is a comic entertainer retained by a medieval prince or noble. I don't think it makes me look very noble at all. I had it on when I came home and Marian went and grabbed her camera and got this picture of me with my new hat.
