Happy Birthday to Me!

Thought I would put up a younger picture of me today since it's my "70" birthday!  I was in the Army ROTC at Boys Town, in Omaha, NE, when this was taken.  I can't believe I made it to "70" and so happy to be here.  Looking forward to celebrating my special day and hope to be around for the next one!

Dead Buck Near Deer Stand

My son Greg called last night to see if I wanted to ride up to the deer camp to get his chairs from his stand and was happy to spend some quality time with him. We left real early since we were going to try to beat a storm that was headed our way. After we got to the stand, I saw a nice buck laying nearby and about that time I said, there's a deer, Greg turned around and saw it.  We surmised that it may have come from another camp and fell over dead near his stand.  He took a picture of it with his camera phone and reported it at camp.  After we got back to the house, after getting drenching wet, Greg laid it down on the front walkway so Marian could take a picture of it.  Greg is going to do a European mount on the deer.  At least the buck will make my son a nice trophy and will have an unusual story behind it to tell.

Senior Center Painting

Early Morning Swamp

I go down to the Senior Center every Tuesday afternoon to paint.  Above is my latest painting that I'm very proud of.  I get a lot of advice from other painters when I go to class which helps me when I'm home painting in my bedroom.  I have found that painting is very relaxing and I appreciate my daughter, Karen, and my son-in-law, Ron, who owns Artisans in Santa Fe, NM, for supplying me with all the paintings materials that I need so I can continue to enjoy the art of painting.
