My Friend Rooster

After we left our friends in Water Valley, we went to visit and stayed overnight with some more friends in Van Vleet near Okolona, MS.  Marian took this picture of us in front of their home Monday morning.  (Read all about our visit on Marian's site)

Rooster made Marian and I a turkey caller and he's adjusting it.

Turkey caller Rooster made for us.  He just sprayed lacquer on it to finish it out and letting it dry.  It sounds great!

Copper Trees for Carnival!

Dr. Walter E. Johnston, Jr., and myself.

My wife Marian took this picture of Dr. Johnston and I today while at his office.  I wanted her to bring the camera to show him all the trees that I have made so far for our trip to Water Valley, MS, to sell my copper trees at the Watermelon Carnival.  He was pleasantly surprised!  We are both looking forward to our trip and visiting with our friends Rex, Denise and his family soon.

Deer Camp Friends

Marian and I were invited to the famous Christmas Place Plantation and Hunting Club this past Saturday for a work weekend and really enjoyed ourselves despite the heat.  She took this picture of Hershel and I riding on one of the gators at the deer camp.  Hershel, is Rex's Dad and the "Chief" of the camp in the MS Delta.

Here I am relaxing with Rex and Camo taking a much needed break from the heat. We are looking forward in a couple of weeks to going to Water Valley, MS, to sell my copper trees at the Watermelon Carnival.  It will be great to see our friends again in such a short time and another fun get-a-way for both of us.

Took this picture of all of us relaxing before dinner.  Left to right, Paul (neighbor), Marian, Rex, Hershel and his good neighborhood friend Dorothy.

Marian took this picture of a deer feeding near the camp house while we were sitting at the table.

An Allie Cat In Our House

We have a new cat in our family and it was given to us by our next door neighbor, Tricia.  Her name is Allie and we have started calling her Allie Cat.  Our neighbor had 20 cats and had to move from her home next door to a one bedroom apartment and had to find new homes for all her cats.  She was able to take one with her.  So we took Allie but it took her awhile to adjust to us and our dog, Katie, a peek-a-poo.  In the above picture she sleeping in my big recliner.

After the above picture was taken, Allie Cat woke up and jumped down and stood in the dining for Marian to take her picture.

A good close-up of Allie Cat.

She has found my bedroom and loves this spot on top my pillow.  I guess you might say, it did not take her long to take over our house.  I think we will enjoy having her.  She is only 3 years old.  We did have a cat, Billy Bob, a bobtail tabby point cat and he was huge.  He lived about 14 years and died on 9/11 a few years ago.  We have really missed him.  He was a kitten when he accidentally left his mom next door and wandered over into our yard.  Marian found him in the ivy meowing near the driveway.  He was named after myself and a friend of ours, Billy Boykin.

Beads on Copper Tree

This is my very first copper tree with beads.  Our hunting friend, Rex, over at Deer Camp Blog gave me the idea a few weeks ago and I tried it out today.  I'm very proud of it and will give the first one to my wife, Marian, over at Marian's Hunting Stories, etc., etc., etc.  I will be making them from now on with/without the beads.  If you will, please leave a comment as to what you think of my tree with beads!

Makings of a Copper Tree

I purchase my copper wire at Home Depot and strip the plastic casings off.  I then cut to size and start making my trees.  It takes a whole day to a half-a-day, depending on the sizes of small, medium and large, to complete a tree.  If you are interested in purchasing one of my unique copper trees you can email me at twodogstall@yahoo.com and coming soon I will be putting them on eBay for sale.  ---RWP Sculptor
