soon given the nickname of ~ TWO DOGS TALL!

Classmate ~ John Finn Dies

John J. Finn, 75, of Hopkins, SC, formerly of Rock Island, passed away August 24, 2018, at his home.  A memorial visitation for John will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Interment will be at a later date in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made to Boys Town, NE.
John was born on May 14, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska, a son of James “Mickey” and Mary Ann (Caster) Finn.  He graduated from Boys Town High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  John worked as an escort driver for wide load semis and traveled all over the country.  John enjoyed driving and camping.  He was an active member of the Wanderlodge owner’s group and he loved Maid-Rites and Harris Pizza; he always got his fill while visiting the Quad Cities.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Aggie (Harold) Newenham of Rock Island and Ed Finn of Hobe Sound, FL; nieces and nephews, Lori Ferguson, Tom Newenham, Lynn Chance, Tim Newenham, Tiffany Finn-Davis, Kevin Finn, Brian Finn, Sean Finn and many great nieces, great nephews, other loving family members and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim.
