My son Greg called last night to see if I wanted to ride up to the deer camp to get his chairs from his stand and was happy to spend some quality time with him. We left real early since we were going to try to beat a storm that was headed our way. After we got to the stand, I saw a nice buck laying nearby and about that time I said, there's a deer, Greg turned around and saw it. We surmised that it may have come from another camp and fell over dead near his stand. He took a picture of it with his camera phone and reported it at camp. After we got back to the house, after getting drenching wet, Greg laid it down on the front walkway so Marian could take a picture of it. Greg is going to do a European mount on the deer. At least the buck will make my son a nice trophy and will have an unusual story behind it to tell.

What could have happen?? Was it shoot at? We got a lot of snow last night and its -20 C outside. In the north of Sweden its over -40C
I am glad to see you and Greg found the buck before varmints carried away the remains. He will certainly make a nice European mount to put up on the trophy wall.
Not sure what the real story is but all that remain was the skeleton body of the deer. Coyotes, etc., may had eaten on it and this was all that was left. The rack is really nice and can't wait to see what it looks like all cleaned up and mounted. Thanks for coming by. Appreciate you comments.
We've picked up a couple of these in the last two weeks out in our woods. Not so fresh as yours, however, but in great shape.
You hate to see something like this in the woods but it happens...either a bad shot on a deer, runs over from another camp or just health issues. Thanks for coming by vicomtesse!
