MS River Sandbar Fun

Here I am with my step-daughter, Marian Suzanne "Suzi," about 17 years ago. At this time we were members of Brown's Point Deer Hunting Club on Kings Point Island north of Vicksburg. The Mississippi River bordered the camp and in the summer Marian and I would go up to the camp and ride our four wheeler and 3 wheeler with the kids. We also had a room on the second floor of the camp house and would spend the night often. It was so much fun to ride around on the 2,500 acres of land and see deer. We also would fish behind the camp where a large creek ran through the property. I really missed those days of long ago...but I still have my fond memories.

My Grandson John

My grandson, John Gregory is taller than me now. He came by this morning with his Dad, Greg, to help cut our grass in the backyard. John is very athletic (swimming, track and soccer) but no football.

Here is John with Marian, his step grandmother!

Lunch Break at Deer Camp

I took this picture of Marian walking back to her deer stand at Brown's Point Hunting Club on Kings Point Island. I told her to come and see me around lunch time and let me know what she had seen and here she is waving back to me as she heads back to her deer stand. This was taken about 15-20 years ago. I really enjoy hunting with Marian and would rather hunt with her more than anyone else in our great outdoors!

Old English Burl Knife

Here is a picture of my wife Marian and I. She had harvested this doe at Homewood Hunting Club in Claiborne County and had presented her with a knife that she is using. The knife has a handle made from Old English Burl with the inscription 'Marian - A wife, friend, and hunting buddy. Love Bob' on the blade.

I'm a Great Grandpa!

My granddaughter, Jessica and Bradd are now proud parents of a beautiful girl! She was born May 6, 2009, at 10:04 PM. Her name is Eilley Reya Mylen. She weighed 6 lbs. 3.5 ounces, full head of dark hair and 19 inches long. Eilley is rooming in with Jess and Bradd at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, NM. This is my very first great granddaughter and we are all proud of Jessica and thankful that the little one is here! I will post a picture of her as soon as we receive one to show her off! Marian and I are so fortunate to be great grandparents again. I have two step-great grandsons, Ian and Tidus David.

Rex and I

I really like this picture of Rex and I that Marian took. We had just met Rex earlier in the day back on May 5, 2007 and he showed us all around his camp, rode by deer stands and saw the lay of the land at the family's famous Christmas Place Plantation and Hunting Club. We later came upon this old abandon car in the woods near a cornfield. We really had a great time riding around the camp on the 4-wheelers and gators. We got to meet his Dad and his daughter Erin and some family members. We really had a very enjoyable and memorable trip.

Molly and Me

Marian took this picture of Molly and me after we got home from church. Molly is a new resident at our home. My step-daughter, Debra (Marian's daughter) and granddaughter, Lucy, are staying with us for awhile until they can find a place to live. Looks like Miss Molly has made herself at home already and also has a playmate, Katie, our peek-a-poo.
